Imagine waking up to views of green fields and rolling hills in The Yorkshire Dales National Park. Escaping the stresses and strains of everyday life. Hearing the joyful calls of curlew, lapwing and oyster catchers. Enjoying a locally brewed pint and a hearty lunch in one of our three Askrigg village pubs (The Crown, Middle House and Kings Arms) before heading back to one of our two pet free, five star, gold award holiday cottages, being greeted on the way by the locals (it’s what we do round here). Chilling in the cottage gardens with delicious coffee and cake from our village deli the Bake-well with everything home made. Travelling on the community run Little White bus to nearby Bolton Castle, still owned by the family who built it in 1378, and walking back to Askrigg through the wild flower meadows by the River Ure. Well, you can do all of this and more from our two fabulous holiday cottages sleeping 4 and 2 in Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have always believed in providing the very best that we can for our customers. We constantly keep both of our cottages up to scratch and have steadily improved them and continue to do so. Urlay Nook has had a 5 star Gold Award rating for many years, but we have also regularly upgraded Minnie’s Cottage so that we have been awarded the same rating by Visit England, who independently assess the quality of our cottages and the service that we provide. It takes hard work and commitment to earn these awards so we are delighted that we now have both cottages at 5 star Gold Award level, the highest grading that you can get, and we also have a ROSE Award (Recognition of Service Excellence) which is only given to 100 hospitality businesses a year. We hope that this gives our customers added confidence and reassurance in what we provide, as these are independent ratings from industry experts. |

We Here are a few snapshots from recent reviews-you can check them and more out on our review page here for Minnie’s Cottage
‘The best equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed at. The owners have thought of everything. Very comfortable. Lovely position’
‘Minnies cottage is in a perfect location. It is beautifully equipped and comfortable, ideal for two people. There are walks straight from the cottage and excellent walks further afield. Askrigg offers everything you could need to enhance your stay. Great pubs and a great cafe serving delicious cakes and savouries. We had a lovely week in Minnie's Cottage and would highly recommend it to future guests.’
And here for Urlay Nook
‘Not our first visit to Urlay Nook and it never disappoints. Ken and Sue are great hosts and make you very welcome. The cottage is always spotless and the welcome pack is very much appreciated after a long journey. Perfectly situated for exploring the Dales and Askrigg has everything you need from shops to pubs. Cannot recommend it highly enough.’
‘As soon as we arrived, we knew that we had made a good choice. The owners have gone that extra mile to ensure that the cottage is lacking in nothing. Easily the best we have ever stayed in. Great holiday.’ |
